Thailand rugby 10s tournament

Bangkok, March 2016 -Thailand Rugby 10s Tournament was held, with veteran Rugby Union player, Canada international, Eddie Evans co-hosting at Bangkok Pattana. Over 5,000 spectators excitedly watched the action play out at Bangkok’s Pattana International School in the last weekend of February. The two-day annual event, in its 11th year, saw 40 international rugby teams competing, attracting 1,800 players and 100 referees and committees.

The Bangkok International Rugby Tens represent a first-class sport, family fun, entertainment value and social elements as the sport; an ideal match to encourage everyone to have a great time on and off the pitch. Champions of the event were the South African Jam Boys, with Japan’s Sunwolves rising to a mighty second position.

A thrilling, action-packed weekend was had by all with proceeds raised going towards helping kids at the Nak Suu Rugby Academy. The sport-based youth development program engages youngsters in sports to benefit their physical and psychological well-being. The Academy also teaches Thai children English, leadership training, life skills and personal development, alongside basic healthcare.
